I have taken pictures since 1980, but until five years ago made my living as a business writer and analyst. Born in London, brought up in Buckinghamshire and living in London and Brighton, I have always been insatiably curious (if not downright nosey) about the world. Pictures and books that reflect and explain the world have been a lifelong love. My photography makes no pretence to high art, though an effective photographer needs an aesthetic view as well as keen observation. It is often as fruitful to focus upon the extraordinary in the everyday as it is to seek out the uniquely dramatic. Also, to make a picture really communicate, it is rarely a bad idea to inject a little humour. My goal, even if I can hardly ever achieve it, is to combine originality and humanity in my photographic work.

Making a career out of my photography means earning money. This site and my work are a business and my many thousands of pictures are all available for sale as prints and digital files. Reproduction rights are available for print and other media. I also undertake commercial and private commissions. At the same time, this site is also here for the enjoyment and use of all who visit it. By opening up my photographic library, I aim to provide a valuable service that grows into a substantial resource for individuals, organisations and businesses interested in pictures that are both useful and original..
