From the bacon roll to the banquette des fruits de mer, there's no end to the stuff you can tuck into when eating out nowadays. Greater affluence and travel mean that most people are going into cafes and restaurants more often. Catering is a huge trade, but also one with thousands of small and individual businesses competing in it. Cafe and restaurant advertising and design, particularly at the cheaper end, is often striking and colourful. With such a variety of places, people and food, the world of eating out is a rich source of pictures. Images Brighton provides plenty of them from the early 1980s to the present day.
