Jet plane flying over Sark, Channel Islands, in July 1989
Getting on a jet plane is now almost as common as getting on a bus, at least for many in the richer countries. Familiarity with air travel, not to mention over-crowded airports, has taken a lot of the magic out of flying. This may explain the nostalgic attraction of airshows and the outbreak of sentimentality when Concorde was withdrawn from service in October 2003. Images Brighton provides pictures that focus on the visual appeal of older aircraft as well as the more ordinary aspects of contemporary air travel.
