Scotsman on a funfair ride in Brighton in August 1998
The fun of the fair rarely loses its appeal, especially on a hot summer's afternoon. Disney World is just the modern version of any of the travelling fairgrounds that have toured around England and Europe for hundreds of years, even if the rides are grander and the atmosphere considerably less carefree and bucolic. The decoration of funfairs and amusement rides has a vivid and colourful tradition that is constantly being updated with contemporary references.
