Student fashion show in London in June 2000
The clothes that grace the catwalk one year will sooner or later end up in the charity shop. Before being discarded by the vagaries of fashion, however, they are desired and admired possessions. People judge each other by their clothes and some people use their clothes to say something, perhaps occasionally inappropriate, about themselves. Fashion is a visual statement quite as much as it is about keeping warm and decent.
