Protestor in Hyde Park at London's largest ever anti-war demonstration in February 2003
The same generation that spawned the slogan "Make Love Not War" now provides the leaders of governments and armies in conflicts around the world. The Iraq invasion in 2003 has launched a tide of anti-war protest stronger than anything since the Vietnam days of the 1960s. While officially declared war between states is now relatively rare, armed conflict now affects more countries than at any time since 1945. Some of these, notably in Israel and Palestine, have been going on for decades. Images Brighton has a large and growing library of pictures highlighting opposition to war in recent years.
