Architecture, for better or worse, is more than just buildings.  The doorway to a terraced house identifies an individual home, but the terraced street itself is a community and a hill covered in such streets becomes part of the still wider identity of a town.  Our sense of belonging is very much associated with the structure and style of our built environment.  The specialist architectures of churches, railway stations or airports also define what these places mean to us and we experience them with our eyes more than any other sense.  Images Brighton has a very extensive library of pictures of architecture and architectural detail taken since 1981.
