Tree in Pavilion Gardens, Brighton, in November 2003
Mellow fruitfulness may be thinner on the ground nowadays, but the colours of autumn seem richer than ever. The visual atmosphere of shortening October and November days is as ripe with the memory of summer as in anticipation of winter nights. Even a single tree in a city street can tell the autumnal story of change and renewal. Leaves fall to let the buds come through, year following year. Images Brighton has a good range of pictures of autumn and the other seasons in the city and the countryside
