The Labour Conference this autumn was even more of a circus than usual.  A combination of stage management and heavy security meant that what happened inside the conference centre might well have been on a different planet from the rest of the world.  On the streets of Brighton, however, the circus atmosphere was provided by thousands of demonstrators, not to mention hundreds of dogs and, shamefully, a dead horse.  This set of pictures captures the scene in Brighton during the last week in September and, inevitably, it has to start with a snap of Mr Blair.
