Architectural details

The current series on architecture concludes with images of assorted external details of buildings and structures. Architectural style is often defined by the design of pillars and balconies or by the material used for walls and roofs. It is the detail of buildings that people tend to appreciate and remember. Equally, the quality and individuality of the best architecture shows most clearly in its external detail. The pictures in this set were taken in London, Brighton, Chester, Devon, Kent, Norwich, Sussex and Berlin between 1982 and 2003.
