George Bush comes to London
President George Bush came to town on November 18th 2003, along with several hundred secret servicemen, a convoy of very large cars and a kennel full of sniffer dogs. He was on the TV a lot, smiling his funny peculiar smile and staying over for three nights at Lillibet's b&b near Victoria Station. It was a very expensive trip, but, luckily for George, his best friend Tony paid the bill. There were a lot of people, 200,000 of them, who didn't agree with that and also wanted to bring him to account for a much larger debt he owes for his behaviour in a couple of other foreign places. The Iraqis and the Palestinians were pretty annoyed about that too. Unfortunately, none of them got to see George in person. Tony said it was something to do with security, but, not having any of that themselves, the Iraqis, the Palestinians and their British friends didn't believe a word he said. One day George will have to pay up, but in the meantime you can see below the first of ten pictures taken in London during his trip.
