Newspaper billboards
Newspapers are well known for devoting great attention and skill to their headlines. The billboards they use for advertising their papers outside newsagents and on street pitches can also contain gems of the copywriter's art. Apart from world and national events, the best examples are often about the wonderful oddities of local news. Here today and gone tomorrow, these posters are a vivid part of the ephemera of street life. The ten pictures in this set come from Brighton, London, Sussex and Kent.
