Brighton has had yet another festival, this time all about food and drink. For two weekends, a city centre street was closed to traffic and filled instead with stalls selling an excellent variety of attractive and tasty stuff. Many stalls were French, but there was also an encouraging number of local English ones, along with specialities from India and Morocco. It was all more than enough to cheer the hearts and fill the tummies of the most dedicated foodies and, judging by the diminished displays at the end of each day's trading, the market was very successful. The glaring and obvious question is why Brighton doesn't have a proper food market every week of the year.
