Brighton's Gay Pride on August 6th was the biggest ever and had over 120,000 participants. This week's pictures look at the way the gay community has now become a strong economic market, fuelled by the considerable spending power of what is colloquially known as the pink pound.  Floats on the Pride Parade were sponsored by banks and car companies, while Amnesty International provided a spectacular pink tank to raise money and awareness for human rights. In the park where the main Pride events took place, there were stalls selling everything from legal advice to squirting dildos. Brighton Pride last year generated an estimated £5 million for the local economy and this August's celebration will have comfortably exceeded that figure. It was a hugely pleasurable weekend for everyone and also, for a remarkable range of businesses, a highly profitable one.
