This week's pictures take a light look at the general subject of French animals. The Gallic enthusiasm for eating virtually all of God's creatures is well known, but the French do stop short of putting their pets in the pot and love them in their way just as much as the English do. French women, in particular, are very fond of their little dogs, even if they unfortunately seem less keen on cleaning up what emerges from the rear ends of their four-legged friends. Besides living creatures, there is also a fine French tradition of using animals in advertising and popular art. In France, whether in the street or the restaurant, you are never far from an interesting animal.
