This week's pictures are on the subject of men and boats. As Ratty said to Mole in the children's classic "Wind in the Willows" : "There's nothing - absolutely nothing - half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats". It was no accident that both of them were masculine. There's something that appeals to the male psyche about battling the elements in the wide open sea, even if the actual experience may be limited to pootling about a South Coast marina on a summer weekend. More boats are being bought every year and it's mostly men who are buying them. Everybody may not love a sailor, but most men fancy a boat. If you enjoy this week's set, you might like to have a look at the earlier ones that feature men and cars, men and dogs and men and food. Any suggestions for further sets on this theme are welcome.
