This week's pictures continue the recent series of masculine topics with a look at men and hats. Fifty years ago, almost all men would have felt undressed without something on their head. Photos of football grounds showed a sea of caps and the City of London really was full of posh gents in bowlers. Those days may be long gone, but the hat survives in a remarkable range of practical and impractical guises. Country folk still favour the tweedy look, while stag parties and day trippers tend to go for the wackier options. Nowadays, whether the cap fits or not, some men will still put it in on their head anyway. If you enjoy this set, you might like to see the earlier ones featuring men and drink, men and boats, men and cars, men and dogs and men and food.
