This week the picture set comes from a chilly Sunday morning on Brighton seafront at the beginning of April. Braving the weather was a Morris Minor rally that comes down from Surrey every year in the early spring.  The Morris Minor is the classic British car - homely, curvy and completely lacking in boy racer appeal. Designed by Alec Issigonis, who went on to create the Mini, the first Minor appeared in 1948 and over one and half million of them were made before production ceased in 1971.  A surprising number have survived, a tribute both to their simple and solid construction and also to the tender loving care bestowed on them by generations of besotted fans. Interestingly, the car was originally going to be called the Morris Mosquito. That would never have worked, there's absolutely no sting in the tail of this lovely motor.
