Gay Pride in Brighton in August 2002

This week's picture choice offers six digital images of Gay Pride in Brighton on Saturday 10th August. With this year's London Gay Pride marooned on the Hackney Marshes and reportedly having been something of a disappointment, Brighton's annual celebration was keen to shine in compensation. Its colourful parade and excellent atmosphere did indeed succeed in providing yet another party weekend on the coast. Sunshine, however, only graced the first part of the day and the heavens opened on the main Pride festival in Preston Park in the afternoon. So many sequins, so much mud !
