Normandy street markets

Even though France is very well served by huge modern hypermarkets, the French continue to also use their local markets for fresh produce and regional specialities.  In Normandy, the Dieppe market is one of the best in the country and stretches the length of the main street every Saturday. There are also thriving markets in inland towns such as Cany-Barville. The ten pictures in this week's set give a taste of France that is both traditional and contemporary.  They were taken in 1988, 1996 and 2001.
