Demonstrations at the Labour Party conference in Brighton in September 2000

The political party conferences in the autumn are always a bit of a circus, and no more so than when New Labour has come down to Brighton in recent years.  September 2000 saw the seafront taken over by thousands of countryside protestors, some of whom brought along their dogs and their tractors.  Then there were old-age pensioners attacking the Labour government for their niggardly pension increases, plus a man dressed as John Bull whose beef was about the tax on fuel.  The ten pictures in this set were all taken on Brighton seafront during the Labour Conference in 2000.
